Transaction Ceiling Limits:
User Profiles are required to have a set limit (cap) to the largest sale and refund transactions they can process. This is designed to help mitigate the possibility of processing a very large transaction in error. It can also help in a situation where a large transaction or refund needs to be processed by an escalated point of contact on the account (an administrator for example). An error message will be returned in both the Virtual Terminal interface, as well as through our API and Shopping Cart/Hosted Payment Pages when an amount is attempted to be processed that is larger than the ceiling limit.
Setting Up Ceiling Limits:
- Sale Ceiling Amount
- The maximum amount that may be processed as a Sale by the user. A value greater than 0.00 must be provided when selecting the Sale permission.
- Refund Ceiling Amount
- The maximum amount that may be processed as a Refund by the user. A value greater than 0.00 must be provided when selecting the Refund permission(s).
